What is a countdown timer?

A countdown timer shows how much time is left to claim an offer. It can display days, hours, minutes, and optional seconds, creating urgency and making the deadline clear.

Why countdown timers boost conversions

Many visitors hesitate and plan to decide later, which often means never. A visible deadline reduces hesitation, prompts faster decisions, and lifts sales. Timers work especially well for flash sales, seasonal campaigns, new collection launches, and any time-limited offer.

How to use countdown timers in Sleeknote

  1. Open your campaign in the Sleeknote builder and add the Countdown element.
  2. Select the correct time zone for your audience and choose the language.
  3. Set the end date and time for your offer.
  4. Decide what happens at zero: disable the campaign or show a follow-up message.
  5. Choose which units to show. Near the deadline, include seconds. If the offer runs longer, hide seconds until the final stretch.
  6. Customize design, fonts, and colors to match your brand.
  7. Target relevant pages and audiences for higher relevance.
  8. Publish and track performance in Sleeknote analytics.

Tips

  • Use clear, specific copy: “Sale ends in 02:15:00”.
  • Align the timer with your promo terms and scheduled end time.
  • Add seconds during the final hours to increase urgency.

Hi, I’m Sofie. In this video, I’ll show you how to boost sales with countdown timers. The issue is that when your visitors see an offer, many of them hesitate. They think they will decide later, but later often means never, and you miss the sale. That is where countdown timers help. You can show the exact amount of time visitors have to claim the offer, with days, hours, minutes, and even seconds.

It works especially well for flash sales, seasonal campaigns, launching a new collection, or any time-limited discounts or offers. It is easy to set up. In the builder, click the Countdown element. You can choose your time zone and the language.

You can choose the end time, and you can also choose what should happen once the countdown reaches zero. You can disable the campaign or show a specific message.

When you are near the deadline, it makes sense to show seconds. If there is a long time to claim the offer, you may want to exclude seconds at the beginning by disabling them.

As always, you can customize the design, fonts, and colors to match your brand. If you are not using countdown timers yet, start adding urgency and reduce the hesitation your visitors have.
