Learn how to use multistep popups to collect more data without hurting conversions. This video shows how to capture better insights while keeping signup rates high.
Hi. I’m Sofie. And in this video, I’ll show you how to collect more information from your visitors without hurting the conversion rate using multi step pop ups. So the challenge is that if you have a pop up with way too many input fields, you will often just scare your visitors away. They won’t even start filling out the information. They will just be overwhelmed. That’s why a multistep campaign is perfect. You have a campaign cut into smaller steps so you can ask for more information. And let me show you how it works with this campaign. First step is asking for the email. I click let’s get started, and then I see, okay, I need to tell about my skin, which will give me better recommendations. So it’s a great way of asking for preferences or asking for other relevant information that can help you send more relevant and personalized email campaigns. So in this case, I’m just gonna choose normal skin and click get my personal tips, and they are now on the way to my inbox. So the important thing for you to know is that you will always get the information from step number one even though they don’t fill out step number two. The good thing is that our data shows that seventy six percent are also entering their information on step number two. So it’s a great way to get more relevant information. And as always, it’s super easy to set up in Sleeknote. I have the campaign here with form number one, form number two, the success step, and the teaser. So in this step, we just tried it asking for email. On step number two, we’re asking we’ve added a drop down asking for skin type. But as always, there’s these form elements so you can ask and add whatever you want to. It could be phone number. It could be, interest, favorite brands, whatever makes sense for you. So, yeah, it’s simple to set up, and it will give you a higher conversion rate, more relevant information, which will also have a positive effect on your email campaigns. So if you aren’t collecting relevant data through multi step campaigns today, you should definitely give it a go.
Multistep popups collect information over two or more short steps instead of one long form. This keeps visitors engaged and helps you capture more (and better) data without hurting conversions.
Long forms overwhelm visitors and stop signups. Splitting questions into smaller steps reduces friction, increases completion, and improves data quality. You always capture step-one data (e.g., email), and our data shows a strong share of visitors continue to step two for additional insights.
